Neptune’s Wedding, also written Neptunes Wedding, is a feminized hybrid that crosses Alien Technology, an Afghan landrace selection, with Wedding Cake. It is an original Lighthouse Genetics cross by Macs_Budz, who selected it over generations and stabilized it before release. Mac had a sample lab-tested, and it came back at 28% THC. Those who have smoked it describe a strain that hits fast with a strong head high, then settles into heavy full-body relaxation. It is a moderate grow that flowers in about 9 to 10 weeks indoors.

History & lineage

Neptune’s Wedding is Mac’s cross of Alien Technology with Wedding Cake. His Wedding Cake is the Triangle Kush × Animal Mints version, the Triangle Mints #23 line credited to Seed Junky Genetics, and Leafly says it is known as Pink Cookies in Canada. Wedding Cake has placed at several High Times Cups: one entered by Greenwolf with Alien Labs and Seed Junkies placed 2nd for Best Indica Flower at the 2017 High Times NorCal Cannabis Cup, and Leafly named it its Strain of the Year in 2019.

Alien Technology comes from Afghanistan. Its breeder, OBSoul33t, selected it from a handful of landrace seeds a US soldier brought back from there. Leafly calls it a pure indica with light green buds and heavy trichome production, and says it has been used to breed hybrids such as Alien Dawg and Alien Kush. We also carry Alien Technology seeds on their own.

Aroma & flavour

Mac describes a nose of earthy pine and herbal musk over vanilla frosting, with a hint of fuel. Once cured, it turns sweeter, with a creamy, cake-like note, and the smoke finishes with a little pepper. Both sides of the family show up in that. For Wedding Cake, Leafly users most often report sweet and vanilla flavours, then earthy and pepper; Leafly describes Alien Technology as spicy and hashy with fuel undertones. Our guide to cannabis terpenes covers what drives those smells.

Effects, as users report them

Most reportedRelaxed · Happy · Euphoric · Uplifted · Hungry
Downsides reportedDry mouth · Dry eyes · Dizzy · Anxious · Paranoid

Mac and those who have smoked it describe Neptune’s Wedding as a fast hitter: a strong head high first, then heavy full-body relaxation. They see it as an evening smoke for experienced smokers. Leafly has no user reports for Neptune’s Wedding, so the boxes show Leafly users’ reports for Wedding Cake, one of its two parents, most common first. Leafly’s write-up on Alien Technology says reports describe its high as more stimulating than a typical indica’s; its small pool of users most often report happy and relaxed effects. Dry mouth is the downside both parents’ users report most, followed for Wedding Cake by dry eyes and dizziness. With a sample at 28% THC, start with a small amount if you are new to cannabis, and give it time.

Growing Neptune’s Wedding

Neptune’s Wedding is a feminized photoperiod plant: it stays in vegetative growth until the light drops to 12 hours a day indoors, or until the nights lengthen outdoors. Expect about 9 to 10 weeks of flowering indoors and, in the Northern Hemisphere, an outdoor harvest in mid to late October. It prefers warm, dry weather, so a season with a wet autumn is a risk. Our seed-to-harvest timeline shows how a 9-to-10-week flower fits a whole grow.

It is a moderate grow with big yields. As a guide, expect about 500–650 g/m² (1.6–2.1 oz/ft²) indoors, 500–700 g (18–25 oz) per plant outdoors, and plants of roughly 90–130 cm (3.0–4.3 ft). The buds come in big, rock-hard and heavy with resin, deep green with the odd purple streak, so a screen of green and stakes help hold the colas up late in flower. Dense buds trap moisture, so keep air moving; our guide to bud rot covers what to watch for.

High with Wedding Cake Frost

31 July 2025

Neptune’s Wedding is on a whole different level. Grows chunky, stanky, and coated in crystals like it got hit with space dust. The smell is sweet, creamy, and earthy with a funky twist. High hits smooth and deep—head in the clouds, body locked in orbit. Easily one of the best I’ve grown. Total top-shelf.

My New Fav!

29 June 2025

I first came across Neptune’s Wedding on Reddit after someone recommended giving it a shot—and wow, am I ever glad I did. This plant grows big and bold, absolutely coated in trichomes. The smoke? Silky smooth on the inhale… but don’t be fooled—the exhale packs a serious punch. At first, I wasn’t sure what to expect… and then it hit me like a freight train. Total kick in the teeth—in the best possible way. Exactly as advertised.
