Freakshow Feminized Seeds

Freakshow was selected and stabilized by Lighthouse Genetics over multiple generations. Originally created by the breeder Shapeshifter and distributed through Humboldt Seed Company, Freakshow is unlike any cannabis strain you’ve seen — its deeply serrated, fern-like leaves make it practically unrecognizable as a cannabis plant. Lighthouse Genetics is working on stabilizing a feminized version with a specific “Christmas tree” phenotype selected for its structure and terpene expression.

Genetics & Lineage

Freakshow descends from a cross of Pineapple Express #2 x Holy Banana (Holy Chiquita). The unique leaf mutation emerged during early generations and was stabilized through careful selection across F5 and F6 generations. Pineapple Express contributes tropical, citrus-forward terpenes and sativa energy, while Holy Banana adds sweet banana notes and balanced effects. The fern-like leaf trait is a genuine genetic mutation — not damage or deficiency — that has been locked in through years of selective breeding.

Appearance

The most striking feature of Freakshow is its leaf structure — instead of the classic cannabis fan leaf, it produces deeply serrated, fern-like foliage with dozens of small leaflets branching from each vein. The plant looks more like a fern or Japanese maple than cannabis, making it an excellent stealth plant. Buds are typical sativa structure — elongated, moderately dense, and coated in trichomes. Plants grow tall with vigorous branching, often reaching 150–200 cm.

Aroma & Flavor

Despite its unusual appearance, Freakshow produces a surprisingly complex terpene profile. The nose opens with diesel and grapefruit, layered with vanilla, thyme, and eucalyptus notes. Tropical undertones of mango and ripe peach come through as buds cure. On the inhale, expect citrus and spice with sweet banana undertones. The exhale carries diesel and woody earth. Dominant terpenes include myrcene, pinene, and limonene.

Effects

Freakshow is a sativa-dominant strain with THC around 18–20%. The high is energizing and euphoric — a cerebral buzz that promotes creativity, focus, and uplifted mood. This is a solid daytime strain that won’t weigh you down. The sativa influence is strong, making it best suited for active sessions, social gatherings, or creative work. Not a heavy hitter by modern standards, but the clear-headed, functional high is exactly what many growers are looking for.

Growing Information

Freakshow is easy to grow and surprisingly stable despite its unusual genetics. Plants flower in 8–9 weeks indoors with generous yields around 500–600 g/m². The sativa structure means plants can get tall — topping and LST are recommended to manage height. The unique leaf shape means defoliation should be done carefully, as the fern-like leaves are harder to read than standard cannabis foliage. Outdoors, plants can get very large and finish by early to mid-October. One genuine advantage: the plant doesn’t look like cannabis, making it a natural choice for discreet outdoor grows.
