Genetics & Lineage

Grape Skunk is a cross of Grape Ape x Skunk. Grape Ape is an indica-dominant strain known for its striking purple colors, grape-berry aroma, and deeply relaxing effects — itself descending from Mendocino Purps, Skunk, and Afghani genetics. The Skunk parent adds vigor, resilience, and that unmistakable skunky bite that cuts through the sweetness. Mac Budz selected this line to lock in the grape terpene expression and purple coloration while keeping the plant structure manageable and yields consistent.

Appearance

Grape Skunk produces dense, medium-sized buds with deep purple to dark green coloration. Under cooler flowering temperatures, the purple hues intensify dramatically — some phenotypes turn nearly black with lavender undertones. Trichome coverage is heavy, giving the dark buds a frosty, sugar-coated look. Orange pistils provide vivid contrast against the purple backdrop.

Aroma & Flavor

The aroma leads with sweet grape candy and berry, backed by a sharp skunky bite and earthy undertones. Depending on phenotype, some plants lean more fruity while others bring out fuel and citrus notes. On the inhale, expect bold grape sweetness and fruit skins.
