Meet Mac Budz — Breeder & Founder
Mac Budz is a cannabis breeder based in Ontario, Canada. What started as a personal passion for growing turned into years of hands-on breeding work — selecting phenotypes, stabilizing genetics, and developing strains that perform consistently for growers.
Mac founded Lighthouse Genetics to share that work with the growing community. Every strain in our lineup was developed in-house, tested through multiple generations, and selected for the traits that matter: potency, yield, structure, and terpene profile.

Why Our Seeds Are Different
Most cannabis seed banks release first-generation crosses (F1 hybrids) and market them as finished strains. The plants look good in photos, but growers often end up with inconsistent results — different phenotypes in every pack, unpredictable growth patterns, and traits that don’t match the description.

Every strain we develop goes through multiple generations of selection — F2, F3, F4, and beyond — before it ever reaches a customer. This process is called stabilization, and it’s what separates a tested, reliable cultivar from a one-off cross.
